My responsibilities included design research, synthesis, workshop development, concept development, UX design, storyboarding, illustration, making my teammates smile. 

 

Otsuka Digital Strategy 

 

frog Design had been asked to draft and deliver deliver a future digital strategy to share knowledge and maximize opportunities for a global pharmaceutical client to bring digital products and services to market. Due to a non-disclosure agreement, details of this work cannot be shown just yet, but I'd be happy to talk about this particular project in person.

 

 


 

We used design research to uncover needs and understand perceptions.

Real people are the arbiters of innovation and we believed the best solutions arise from a first-hand understanding of their experiences and environments. Design research inspires and informs human centered innovation — uncovering customers needs, revealing new product and service opportunities. This process helped our team test the value of our ideas, make the development cycle more efficient and effective and transforms insights into actionable ideas. We leveraged qualitative user research to gather insight and feedback from key stakeholders about the functional and emotional value inherent in the offering.

 



 

We incorporated this group’s feedback into a number of prioritized opportunity areas for product and service ideas.

Based on research insights and the prioritized opportunity areas, we drafted over 160 initial ideas for digital products and services. We combined and refined these into 18 concepts. We then utilized a co-creation workshop and took a quantity over quality approach - building a library of ideas for to down-select from and elaborate. Designing and organizing a number of collaborative workshops, we jointly reviewed our findings with our client and revised concepts during an intensive two-day working session. Since then we’ve partnered with the Core Team to help bring key concepts to life.

 



 

Finally, we pitched our ideas.

We developed narratives based on our research findings, and we delivered our final deliverables such as graphically visualized key concepts, value propositions, open innovation process, digital readiness recommendations, and digital strategy roadmap.
